Riley W. Smith, CFP® joined Global Financial Partners in March 2016 after four years as a Drilling Fluids Engineer in the Gulf of America with a Fortune 500 company. He achieved his Certified Financial Planner™ designation in 2023 and became a full partner in the firm in 2024.
He graduated from Sam Houston State University in 2012, earning his bachelor’s degree while completing a football career with the Sam Houston State Bearkats.
During his time in the oilfield, Riley saw that many young and mid-career professionals weren’t sure how to manage their savings or make the most of what they were earning. That realization inspired him to pursue a career in financial services, where he helps individuals and families set clear goals and build plans to reach them.
Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Samantha, and their daughter, Sonny. They live in Huntsville, Texas, and enjoy hunting, fishing and spending time with their family.
